“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”

MacGyver Mentality is the ability to see the opportunities in ordinary things and commit to transforming them to aid in the pursuit of your vision. In committing to this mentality the hard and precise rules begin to bend and allow more leeway and flexibility in producing outcomes.

Jiddu Krishnamurti had a story that fits with this theme.
“The devil and a friend were walking, when they saw a man pick up something from the ground, look at it, and put it in his pocket. The friend said to the devil, “What did that man pick up?” “He picked up a piece of Truth,” said the devil. “That is a very bad business for you, then,” said his friend. “Oh, not at all,” the devil replied, “I am going to let him organize it.”
